HANDLING CONFLICTS & DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS IN MARRIAGE

  • PASTOR OSHOKEY
Date preached September 26, 2026

Disagreement and quarreling do not automatically mean a marriage has failed. What matters is how couples handle conflict and difficult conversations.

In this teaching, we explore practical and biblical principles for navigating conflict in marriage, including the importance of listening before speaking, speaking the truth in love, dealing with sensitive issues such as intimacy and finances, understanding differences in background and worldview, and seeking solutions instead of trying to win arguments.

The teaching concludes with five principles for a godly difficult conversation:

  1. Pray before you speak.
  2. Speak the truth.
  3. Speak in love.
  4. Listen with humility.
  5. Seek a solution, not victory.

If you are married or preparing for marriage, this message offers practical encouragement to help you approach difficult conversations with wisdom, humility and God’s Word.

May God give every couple the grace to communicate, forgive, restore trust and build a marriage that honors Him.
